קבלה
Practical Kabbalah is described as the secret dimension of the Torah, embodying supreme holiness that radiates into the heart, enabling one to receive in order to bestow—an expression of perfect love. However, humanity is currently considered impure due to contact with death and self-serving desires, rendering us incapable of engaging in practical Kabbalah. This impurity stems from the second restriction in the spiritual worlds, creating barriers in human consciousness that block the ability to receive in order to bestow. At present, we lack the strength, capability, and spiritual screen (masach) necessary for this level of connection.
We are in the midst of "tikun haberia," the correction of creation, rather than at its ultimate purpose—the correction of the soul. Pure, altruistic desires and spiritual awareness must be refined before addressing the body’s egoistic desires and the "stony heart." From our current state, attempting practical Kabbalah would mean receiving for oneself within the fourth phase of desire (Behina Dalet) under the attribute of judgment (midat hadin), leading to spiritual death—a disconnection from the Creator and the Divine Light.
The wisdom of Kabbalah focuses on the "flavors" (ta’amim) of Torah, representing the light in a diminished form (zanen), rather than its concealed primordial light or secrets (sodot). This diminished light, along with the mysteries of creation (ma’aseh bereishit), is intended for revelation, a mitzvah tied to redemption. Practical Kabbalah is not external or physical; common associations with amulets or similar practices are symbolic, reflecting inner spirituality rather than possessing inherent power. The Holy Ari, Rabbi Isaac Luria, teaches that in our generation, impurity from contact with death forbids practical Kabbalah, and even knowledgeable individuals who pursue it face punishment.
Instead, the emphasis should be on giving to others and fostering love for one’s fellow person, rather than relying on external symbols or magical practices, which lack true influence. The call is to focus on spreading Torah’s light, as encouraged by Rabbi Kabbalah for Beginners, through subscribing to the YouTube channel and staying connected to Israel, directly linked to God. Amen.
